On Saturday, November 11th, 2023, Temple University's Public Policy program hosted its fourth Careers in Public Service Workshop at Temple University Center City Campus. Temple students, alumni, and professionals gathered to network and gain valuable insight into various career paths in public service.
The compelling event featured panels of experienced practitioners, public officials, and accomplished alumni, each representing different facets of public service. Panelists lent their insights on specific policy fields and trajectories, including advocacy and lobbying, research and analysis, executive branch careers, and legislative branch careers.
In the afternoon, attendees gathered for lunch and listened to an inspirational keynote address from Donna Cooper, Executive Director at Children First. Attendees then had the opportunity to connect with panelists, fellow participants, and potential mentors for the remainder of the event.
The 2023 Careers in Public Service Workshop proved to be a resounding success, offering a day of inspiration, learning, and networking and showcasing the myriad ways in which individuals can make a positive impact on society through meaningful careers in public service.
