Study Abroad
Studying abroad can be one of the most transformative experiences you’ll have as a college student. You’ll grow in confidence, independence and understanding of other societies and cultures by spending time in another country. Temple University students have many opportunities to study abroad through our international campuses in Rome and Japan, foreign exchange programs, and external partnerships. Additionally, the College of Liberal Arts offers numerous faculty-directed study abroad programs.
These programs provide opportunities for students to engage with diverse cultures, to learn new languages and to prepare themselves for a globally interconnected workplace while making progress towards degree requirements. Education Abroad Global Seminars
Global Seminars are new main campus Spring semester courses that include a 7–10 day international travel experience either over Spring Break or early May. They are great for students who may not have the flexibility to study abroad for an entire semester or summer term, as well as for students who have never been abroad before.
In Spring 2027 the following CLA professor will be leading the following seminar:
Dr. Shuchen (Susan) Huang (Associate Professor of Instruction in Modern Languages, Literature and Cultures) is leading Taiwanese Culture in Literature and Film with travel to Taipei, Taiwan over Spring Break.
In Spring 2028 the following CLA professor will be leading the following seminar:
Dr. Lauren Farmer (Associate Professor of Instruction in Political Science) is leading Troubled Peace in Belfast and Derry/Londonderry with travel to Ireland in May.
