Show your support this year and join us April 13-19 for Temple Giving Days! Our week-long event encourages faculty, staff, alumni, donors and friends to come together to collectively support the university and help transform the lives of our students.

Support Graduate Students

The Stephen Couvillion Scholarship honors Stephen’s memory and his passion for humanity. Founded by his friends and family, the scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding students entering the graduate program in African American studies. Preference is given to those returning to graduate study after an absence of at least five years.

A New Fund to Support Students

The 57 Cent Fund honors the legacy of Temple University founder Russell Conwell. In his moving sermon, “The History of Fifty-Seven Cents,” Conwell memorialized Hattie May Wiatt, a child whose dying contribution of 57 cents toward the building of a new Sunday school inspired thousands of dollars in subsequent donations and led to the construction of the Baptist Temple. The 57 Cent Fund carries on the tradition of helping students maintain critical access to education. The fund supports students facing unforeseen and catastrophic life events.

Support Our Veterans

The Dr. Alfred M. Sellers Veterans Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Dr. Alfred Sellers, a decorated Army veteran of WWII and the Battle of the Bulge, whose studies at Temple were disrupted by the war. Dr. Sellers served with a combat engineering unit before becoming a medical corpsman in the Army’s 4th Armored Division, where he earned a bronze star for valor. A practicing physician for 55 years, Temple formally awarded Dr. Sellers his bachelor’s degree in 2012.

The scholarship is awarded to veterans returning to the College of Liberal Arts to pursue an undergraduate degree. Support this fund and learn more about Dr. Sellers’ extraordinary life.
