After many months of hard work, the final report on the Joint Task Force on Regulatory Reform for the Department of Licenses & Inspections (L&I) in the City of Philadelphia was publicly released on February 8th, 2024. The work done by the Task Force addresses the issues identified with the current structure of the department by L&I and stakeholders, and acts as a blueprint for the Parker Administration on how L&I can be improved to fulfill its mission effectively.

Congrats to the Temple Public Policy students and alumni who were involved in this process and who contributed to the final report: Joe Berk (Public Policy Certificate), Jacob Golden (MPP), Kira Halma (MPP), Erin Dwyer Harvard (MPP), Tyler Honschke (MPP), Riley Stover (MPP)!

Completing the Final Report of the Joint Task Force on Regulatory Reform showed me what government looks like when it is working at its best. It has been incredible to see the recommendation to split the Department of Licenses and Inspections, something I believed would take years to implement, be so rapidly pursued by the Parker Administration. Progress is possible when all stakeholders are at the same table developing policy.-- Jacob Golden
