Courtney Berne's research focuses on human-animal relationships within precarious environments as they pertain to marginalization, alternative mobilities, bodily agencies, and re-imaginings of spatial sovereignty. Ms. Berne hails from an interdisciplinary background with fifteen years of teaching experience at the university level.

Areas of interest: more-than-human feminist geography, black geography, environmental racism & urban public land use

Previous education: Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater from University of Massachusetts, Amherst
Master of Arts degree in Humanities from the University of Chicago
