Biography

Alison (Ali) Shott is a community engagement advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. She builds partnerships with nonprofits, public sector agencies, and community development financial institutions to promote equitable development and fair and impartial access to credit in underserved communities nationally. At the Philadelphia Fed, Ali leads the Reinventing Our Communities (ROC) Cohort Program, a 15-month racial equity capacity building for cross-sector community groups across the U.S. to apply local solutions to build stronger, more inclusive regional economies. 

Before joining the Philadelphia Fed, Ali was a director at a Philadelphia-based economics and public policy consulting firm, where she led projects on neighborhood revitalization, municipal finance, and workforce development. She previously worked in research at the Institute on Municipal Finance and Governance and the Social Economy and Sustainability Research Network. 

Ali has a Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario, a master’s degree from Acadia University, and a bachelor’s degree from American University, all in political science. In 2009-2010, she was a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Prince Edward Island.
