College of Liberal Arts Philosophy students are challenged by their professors to explore life’s biggest questions about god, health, disease, free will and more. Here, we explore the big questions about the lives and academic and professional careers of our students, alumni and faculty. The program is locally rooted in the cultural center that is Philadelphia, but its global reach touches European and Greek philosophy and so much more. Now a director of growth at a marketing agency, Plotts credits the unique perspective and knowledge of how to learn from CLA with propelling his career.

Congratulations to graduate student Raciel Cuevas who has been awarded a Lamar University Center for Philosophical Studies Essay Prize Award, in association with the Rocky Mountain Division of the American Society for Aesthetics, for his paper "Nature's Spoiled Darling: Kant on Genius and Artistic Achievement." He is also the recipient of an Irene H. Chayes Travel Grant and a Rocky Mountain Division Travel Grant to support his participation in the 2018 ASARMD conference.

We are thrilled to announce that Shaeeda Mensah (currently completing her PhD at Penn State University), will be a Diversity Postdoctoral Fellow in the Philosophy Department this coming academic year (2018-19).

We are thrilled to announce that Lee-Ann Chae (PhD UCLA), currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania will be starting a position as Assistant Professor of Philosophy (tenure-track) in Fall 2018.
