Global Studies News
We are all global citizens, with economics, society, language, media and more being shared and shifted the world over. Here you can learn more about the lives of the students, faculty and alumni who’ve dedicated their time at Temple University to the pursuit of exploring those connections through our Global Studies program. And if you have an idea for a story of your own you think we should tell, let us know! Global Studies students are challenged by the faculty to think about big-picture international issues, to experience new cultures and to learn new languages. The academic research and study produced brings new ideas that are applicable outside the classroom to make advancements on the world stage.
Senior Political Science and Global Studies double major Diana Gavrykh was selected by Phi Beta Kappa as one of 20 Key into Public Service scholars out of 600 applicants. The nationwide award showcases rewarding public service career opportunities for liberal arts graduates.
Congratulations to the CLA Class of 2020!
The College of Liberal Arts is excited to have so many amazing seniors joining our alumni network by graduating this month! The circumstances of your final semester with us were unusual, to say the least, but you didn’t let them hold you back. You made it! Now, let’s celebrate together!
Senior Audrey Kutryan, a global studies and French major, shares her experience at the College of Liberal Arts’ recent Mazur Alumni Networking event. The annual event gives CLA students a guided, pressure-free opportunity to network with alumni and fellow students.
Lauren Ruhnke, CLA ’17, is currently on her second but certainly not her last trip to India. She studied abroad there as an undergrad, has returned as a grad student on a scholarship and will visit several more times to work on her dissertation.
Senior Amanda Morrison didn’t plan on enrolling at Temple University’s College of Liberal Arts. She didn’t plan on being a global studies major. And she didn’t plan on having a part-time job at a nonprofit women’s group. But each time opportunity came knocking, she answered.
