Geography and Urban Studies News

In more ways than one, nature, society and urbanism intersect, and here at Temple University’s College of Liberal Arts, we explore the causes and results of that intersection. The Department of Geography and Urban Studies researches this topic and provides undergraduate and graduate students with the skills and knowledge necessary to explore how space, place and scale effect the connection between nature and society. The department has a specialized focus on urban studies, here you’ll find content relative to everything our students, faculty and alumni are doing to further geographic analysis of all kinds. Linsey graduated with a double major in Environmental Studies and Geography & Urban Studies. After serving as an Agroforestry Extensionist as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guinea, Linsey became a Chemical Review Manager at the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC.

Yuan is the Assistant Policy Director for the City of Philadelphia Mayor’s Office of Policy.  She was previously the Director of Finance ad Administration in the Philadelphia Office of the Inspector General. Yuan started Temple at a business student, but switched to Geography and Urban Studies her Junior year. As a GUS major, Yuan was able to study abroad at Temple University Japan for a semester.
