Congratulations to Philosophy Professor Eugene Chislenko, whose paper “You Idiot” was recently published in the Asian Journal of Philosophy (open access). Philosophers have recently become interested in blame in contexts related to knowledge, as opposed to more typical moral contexts. Some are skeptical that there is such a thing. Professor Chislenko argues that “You idiot” is a paradigm case of this kind of blame, and that we can understand it in terms of attention, as a focus on faulty reasoning.
