The 2025 edition of Beyond the Classroom Fest took place at the Howard Gittis Student Center this past Wednesday, October 22. Every year, Beyond the Classroom Fest gives students the opportunity to connect with CLA’s academic departments and programs; meet with dozens of employers and recruiters; and learn more about getting involved with internships, research opportunities and studying abroad.
The room was buzzing all day long, with various tables providing activities and giveaways for students who stopped by—the Greek and Roman Classics department served up their signature edible “October Horses,” made from Tastykake Krimpets, while Geography and Urban Studies made pins personalized with portions of the world map chosen by visitors. Students were also bingo cards they could complete for prizes by visiting different tables.
This year’s fest, coordinated by the Joyce K. Salzberg Center for Professional Development and the Community Engagement Office, saw over 800 students attend throughout the day.
