Andrew (he/they) is a medical sociologist whose research focuses on the intersection of harm reduction, expertise, lived experience, and addiction. His mixed-methods research includes over three hundred hours of participant observation fieldwork, and 140 interviews with people who use drugs, medical practitioners, social workers, people with lived experience, police officers, business owners, and neighbors in and around Kensington, Philadelphia. Andrew's research seeks to interrogate how we understand what knowledge means, who possesses it, and why?
Andrew is also an avid cyclist, musician, outdoor enthusiast, cat lover, and a person in recovery—in no particular order of importance!
