Jennifer Stanley is a PhD candidate in the department of Criminal Justice. She earned her BA in Criminal Justice from Temple University in 2013 and her master’s in criminal justice from Saint Joseph’s University in 2015. Over the course of her studies, Jennifer has worked on various research projects in substance use and mental health treatment of justice-involved individuals, juvenile justice, mental health courts, and drug courts. Jennifer is currently working on her dissertation assessing treatment and justice-related outcomes among individuals in prison with co-occurring opioid use and mental health disorders. Furthermore, she has published papers in Journal of Substance Use and Addiction Treatment (JSAT), Criminal Justice and Behavior, and The Prison Journal and has presented at several academic conferences. Jennifer has also served as an adjunct and faculty of instruction in Criminal Justice at Rider University and Rowan University and teaches summer classes at Temple University. Her current research interests are the intersections of public health and criminal justice, particularly substance use and mental health treatment of justice-involved individuals, corrections, and juvenile justice.
