Jazmin Evans is a doctoral student in the Department of Africology & African American Studies at Temple University.

Evans received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Pan-African Studies with a concentration in Community Organization from Kent State University (2017). During which time, she served as the youngest President of the Kent African Student Association and  Vice-Chair of the Undergraduate Student Government's Diversity & Inclusion Committee. She received her Master of Arts in Africology from Temple University (2019). Her research interest is in the development of Sahkuology (African psychology). Currently, she is exploring disciplinary standards of Africana Studies/Africology and characteristics of Afrocentric discipline building.

Evans received the Stephen Coullvion (2019) and Outstanding Service (2021 & 2022) awards. She was among the inaugural class of Fellows for The Diopian Insitute of Scholarly Advancement (DISA) during the 2022-2023 academic year. Currently, Evans serves as an Associate Board Member of DISA, Special Assistant to the Executive Director of The Pan-African Studies Community Education Program (PASCEP), and Coordinator of the Africology Series with PASCEP to provide Graduate Student and Faculty-led Africology courses to the Philadelphia community.
