Carrilee graduated from the University of Toronto with a BA in History and English. Her research interests include: 20th Century African American History, Black Political Thought, Black Children’s Literature, History of Education in the U.S., Visual Culture, and Jim Crow South. At the root of her work, she aims to interrogate ideas of citizenship, privilege, and power through the lens of children and youth.
