Autumn Talley is a PhD student in the Criminal Justice department. She grew up in Brooklyn, New York and Columbus, New Jersey before heading to the illustrious Howard University on a full scholarship to earn undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Spanish. She was an active student leader at HU and worked in research labs studying creativity & personality as well as the psychology of decision making. Autumn obtained her master’s degree in Social Work at NYU, which included a semester abroad at NYU Buenos Aires. During her time at NYU, she studied clinical practice and drug policy. She then went on to practice as a licensed social worker for three years at a family shelter and two community behavioral health clinics.
Autumn is an abolitionist, eager to work on sociological research that demonstrates how the policies and practices of the U.S. criminal justice system affect families and communities. She is excited to be a part of the TU community and work with the eclectic faculty of the Criminal Justice department. Her hobbies include reading, watching cartoons, and sharing laughs with family, friends, and her loving partner.
