Alexis Carrion is a rising fourth-year doctoral student in Temple University's Sociology Department. She holds a Master of Arts in sociology from Temple University and a Bachelor of Science in applied psychology with a minor in social work from New York University. She hopes to combat inequity in higher education through research and advocacy. Her research focuses on eliminating the challenges to degree completion experienced by non-traditional student populations. Her current research focuses on mothers who pursue credentials in higher education and the institutional barriers that prevent them from achieving their academic goals.
