Thank you for your interest in applying for the Sonkin-Weisman Scholars Program! Please read the information below before submitting your application.
If accepted as a Sonkin-Weisman Scholars Program student, your continued eligibility and participation will depend on meeting the following academic and engagement requirements:
Academic Requirements
- Minimum GPA: You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 throughout your enrollment in the program.
- Full -time Enrollment: You must be enrolled as a full-time student each semester.
- Academic Standing: You must remain in good academic standing and disciplinary standing with the university, and the honors program.
Participation Requirements
Mandatory Events
Attend required program events each semester, including:
- Orientation
- Monthly Meetings
- Scholarship Workshops or Leadership Development Sessions
- Before graduating you are required to complete and apply for one scholarship such as but not limited to: The Rhodes Scholarship, The Fulbright Scholarships, The Marshall Scholarship, Truman Scholarship, etc.
Reporting
- Progress Reports: Submit a brief semesterly reflection or academic progress report.
- Transcript Reviews: With your advisory, you will review your academic performance at the end of each semester.
Communication
- Email: You are required to regularly check your university email for important updates from the Sonkin-Weisman Scholars Program team.
- Responsiveness: Failure to response to program-related communication in a timely manner may impact your standing.
Failure to meet the above requirements may result in placement in program probation, reduction or loss of scholarship funding and/or dismissal from the program. If accepted to the Sonkin-Weisman Scholars Program, you will be required to sign an acceptance letter and indicate understanding of the above requirements.
