Philosophy major Stephen Walicki has been selected as 2025-2026 Livingstone Undergraduate Research Award winner.
The Livingstone Award recognizes the depth and breadth of undergraduate research at Temple, and is handed out in six categories annually. Stephen’s project, Pleasantness of a Different Kind: Hierarchical Processing and Valence Content, was the winner in the Humanities category.
In 2025, Stephen was selected as a Diamond Research Scholar. At the suggestion of faculty mentor David Wolfsdorf, his Diamond Scholar project centered around the idea of “valence” in regard to psychological positivity or negativity. A version of that project formed Stephen’s winning Livingstone submission.
Congratulations to Stephen! You can read more about his project and watch his video presentation at Temple University Libraries’ Livingstone Undergraduate Research Awards page.
