Vivian Lauver is a PhD student and Instructor of Record in the English department at Temple. Originally from Savannah, Georgia, she received her MA in English from Temple in 2025 and holds bachelor’s degrees from Georgia Southern University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Vivian is currently at work on a dissertation that explores reading practices and assessment in the first-year writing classroom, with a focus on participatory reading practices, accessibility, and multimodal composition. Vivian has recently presented critical work at conferences of the Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA) and the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (ASLE). In 2025, she received the Distinguished Teaching Award for Creativity and Innovation from Temple’s First Year Writing Program. In 2026, she was awarded the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) Graduate Student Instructor of Record Award.
