Tara Kennette is a PhD Candidate at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Currently, she is working on a dissertation that examines relationships between women and their environments in work from American Regionalists. Tara is particularly interested in discussions that privilege animal or plant perspectives while attempting to decenter, to whatever degree possible, anthropocentric stances. Tara has presented on Ecocritical and American Regionalist topics at NeMLA conferences in 2021, 2024, and 2026, and the Jewett Unbound conference in 2024. Tara teaches English Composition and Literature courses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
