Biography

Reya George earned her MA from Bryn Mawr College in 2023 and a BA from the University of Michigan in 2018. She is currently finishing her dissertation on ancient Greek and Roman depictions of disembodiment and disembodied experience in otherworldly spaces, comparing narratives from Plato, Plutarch, Cicero, Magical Papyri, and Augustine. Reya George’s research interests include Greek social and political history, Greek religion and mythology, Platonic philosophy and especially Platonic myths and their interpretations, and comparative mythology.
