Curriculum Vitae  

Ndidiamaka A.I. Nwakalor is an educator, program leader, and community advocate whose work focuses on Africana studies, education, and youth empowerment in global Black communities. She currently serves as an African American History and Social Science high school teacher in Philadelphia, PA where she focuses on empowering students through history and developing future leaders.

Her professional background includes leadership roles in youth development, education, and workforce programming with organizations such as the Urban Affairs Coalition and the African American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ & DE. Internationally, she taught Information Computer Technology in Namibia with WorldTeach, where she was recognized with the “Hardest Working Teacher” award.

She earned the Chairman’s Award for Excellence in Academic Service from the University at Albany’s Africana Studies department, where she also served as Vice President of the Nefer Rohu student organization, the Africana Studies student group where she coordinated the university’s Black History Month Extravaganza amongst other events.

In addition to her academic work, Nwakalor is the founder of Alkebuniiq, a brand and blog that empowers global Black communities through cultural storytelling, blogging, and handcrafted jewelry inspired by African heritage.

She holds an M.A. in Africana Studies from the University at Albany, SUNY.
