Robi’s research examines the problems and prospects of development through the lens of political economy and critical climate adaptation in Bangladesh.
Robi holds an M.Phil., a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is an ethnographer with a decade of experience in the development and academic sectors. His research has focused on climate vulnerability, adaptation strategies, and the evaluation of development interventions, and he has led and contributed to multiple research projects in these areas. Before beginning his doctoral studies, Robi served as a Manager of Monitoring and Evaluation at BRAC, the largest non-governmental organization in the world. In his efforts to bridge research and practice, he balances investigation of root causes with pragmatic solutions to complex problems. This work is also committed to countering the epistemic erosion of non-dominant knowledges with theorizing from South Asia.
He enjoys spending time in the secluded Jhum hills; playing cricket, and football; and farming in the coastal lands of Bangladesh.
