Biography
Marcella, originally from São Paulo, Brazil, was raised in Tuscany, Italy. She holds a Master’s degree with honors in Public and Cultural Diplomacy from the University of Siena, and is a Cultrice della Materia (Teaching Assistant) for the International and Cultural History of Latin America course at the Department of Political Science and International Relations (DISPI) at the same university. Her research focuses on pan-Americanism and the diplomatic relations between the United States and Latin America in the 19th and 20th centuries. She is the Thomas J. Davis Fellow at Temple University's Center for the Study of Force and Diplomacy (CENFAD), and the International Student Liaison at the James A. Barnes Club Graduate student organization for the 2025-2026 academic year. Fluent in Italian, Portuguese, English, and Spanish, she participated in exchange programs at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in Brazil and at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) in Mexico. Beyond academia, her personal interests include cooking, movies, and exploring record stores.
