Ethan Cohen is an award-winning teacher of undergraduates and children from New York to Philly. His research dwells on the centrality of colonialism to European history and the binary between Europe and non-Europe which remains strong today. He has carried out research at twenty archival collections in Spain, Morocco, and the United States thanks to funding from the American Institute for Maghrib Studies (AIMS), the Center for the Study of Force and Diplomacy (CENFAD), the Global Studies program, and a grant from his alma mater Vassar College.

Ethan has received the Cook prize for outstanding graduate students in an area other than U.S. history, distinction on his comprehensive exams, and distinction for his Masters thesis at Columbia University.

His plays, including The Beauty of English: An Anti-Zionist Comedy, have been read and performed in New York City. He serves as editor-in-chief of Albinism InSight, the national, quarterly magazine for people with albinism.
