Kate Kelly (she/her) is a first-year PhD student who earned a Masters in Social Work from Temple University in 2021. She completed two years of fieldwork with the Defender Association of Philadelphia, providing mitigation and social service referrals. With an undergraduate background in communications, she has worked with numerous community organizations, non-profits, and small businesses in Philadelphia. Her research interests include the intersection of public health and the criminal legal system, the realities of reentry, probation & parole, policy reform, and abolitionist strategies.
