Gifty (Yaa) Asiamah is a doctoral student at Temple University. She is from Ghana and holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Sociology from the University of Ghana. Her research interests include cyberbullying, cybercrime, corrections, gender and race, juvenile justice, and victimization. In her master’s thesis, she employed both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to examine cyberbullying among college students, utilizing primary data collection.

She is currently working on a project that examines body modification practices and sexual identities. This project is a collaboration with Dr. David Lane at Illinois State University and Dr. Whitney DeCamp at Western Michigan University.
