Biography

Melissa DeGezelle has worked as an adjunct in the Intellectual Heritage Program since 2010. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College. Through a social justice lens, she teaches writing and humanities at various universities in Philadelphia. She also teaches medical students how to perform feminist patient-centered reproductive exams. Beyond teaching, she is a poet, a birth doula, an activist, and a mother.
