Apply for your degree
If you are planning to graduate in May 2019 you must apply for graduation through Self Service Banner. You can apply to graduate by following the steps below:
1. In TUPortal, select the Student Tools Tab
2. Under Records on the right hand side select Apply to Graduate
3. Continue the application process until you come to the application submission confirmation
**If you are also earning a certificate, you must apply separately for your certificate. This does not apply to minors or double majors.**
If you are planning to graduate in August 2019, do not apply for graduation through Self-Service Banner at this time. You will apply for graduation in the semester in which you are completing your degree requirements. The application in Self-Service banner is meant only for degree conferral and is not related to the actual graduation ceremonies.
August 2019 graduates who are within eight credits or two courses of completing degree requirements may petition to participate in the University Commencement and CLA Graduation Ceremony in May 2019.
The Temple University 132nd Commencement Exercises will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2019. Please visit the Commencement website for more information.
The College of Liberal Arts May undergraduate ceremony will take place on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in the Liacouras Center. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
To be eligible for Latin Honors, at least 60 credits must be completed at Temple University and the final cumulative GPA must meet the qualifying standards. The qualifying cumulative GPA standards are for CLA students graduating in August 2018, December 2018 and May 2019.

If you are academically cleared and do not have holds on your student record, the diploma will be mailed to the address you list on your graduation application approximately eight weeks after your degree is awarded. If you do not receive your diploma after such time, please email email@example.com.
Upon review of your academic history, if it is determined that you have NOT met all necessary degree requirements, you will be notified by academic advisor through your Temple email account.
