Matthew Freedman is Professor of Economics at the University of California, Irvine. He is also the executive director of the California Federal Statistical Research Data Center (FSRDC) at Irvine and a co-editor at Regional Science and Urban Economics. He currently serves as the Equity Advisor for UCI’s School of Social Sciences. His primary research interests are in labor economics, public finance, and urban economics. His work has also addressed topics in environmental economics and the economics of crime.
