Kacie Hoagland is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Temple University. Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, Kacie earned a B.A. in English and Spanish from Temple and an M.S.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania. She also spent a year living in Galicia, Spain as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, an experience which sparked her interest in multilingual education.

Kacie's primary research interests include heritage language education, study abroad, bilingual communities, and second language acquisition. Her dissertation project explores the identity and language development of Spanish heritage speakers throughout heritage language coursework and study abroad immersion.
