Criminal Justice Professor Steven Belenko was recently named Researcher of the Month by the College of Liberal Arts at Temple. Dr. Belenko's expertise is on drug abuse and crime, the impact of substance abuse in justice systems, drug policy, organizational change strategies to improve the implementation of addiction treatment and other health services for offenders. He recently received a four-year grant from the PA Department of Health to identify gaps in care and support services and facilitate linkage to community-based medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for people who have an OUD and initiated MAT while incarcerated. The study will document the experiences of people with OUD and assess the impact of the TRUST Clinic on long-term outcomes.
