Biography

Sandra Wilson Smith is an Associate Professor of Teaching and Instruction in First Year Writing, specializing in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.  She received her Ph.D. in English in 2008 from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY).  Her research and publications have focused on writing pedagogy (especially in connection with developmental writing and ESL), young-adult literature, African-American literature, and eighteenth- and nineteenth-century American female adventure tales.
