Biography

Dr. Shreyasee Das joined the Economics Department in 2018. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics, an M.A. in Economics and a B.Sc. in Economics, all from the University of Houston. Prior to joining Temple University, she was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Her research focuses on the intersection of gender economics and development economics. Her work includes analyzing the effects of public policies concerning women’s property rights, marriage markets, water rights and education. Professor Das teaches Introductory Microeconomics and Development Economics at Temple.
