This year the Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies (GSWS) program hosted its second annual research symposium, where 24 undergraduate and graduate students presented their independent research and field work projects addressing current issues in gender and sexuality across fields and disciplines. Made possible by our generous donors, Nancy Krody; Bruce Davidson (CLA '70) and Donald Barb; and Hal Shanis, the symposium brought together creative, scholarly, and applied research across myriad issues including, but not limited to LGBTQIOA+ rights and representation, sexual and reproductive health, gun violence, opioid addiction, sexual harassment, purity culture and sexuality education.

Field work students partnered with both local and national organizations such as SEPTA, Lambda Legal, Woodhull Sexual Freedom Foundation, Girls, Inc., Planned Parenthood's Rainbow Room, Queer Joy Collective, and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University to gain valuable firsthand experience putting their GSWS knowledge to use, finding creative solutions to complex problems.

All our field work students were paid through the Rebecca Alpert Fund, established by Nancy Krody's unwavering support. Nancy also established the Laura Levitt Fund, which supported eight students' research projects this year. Additionally, our field work students were supported the generous donations made possible by the Bruce Davidson and Donald Barb Award and the Hal Shanis Fund.
