The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience has a threefold mission: To answer questions on the cutting edge of psychology research, to provide training to undergraduate and graduate students in the broad fields of psychology, and to provide individuals and the community with psychological services based on the best current practices in psychology.

Excel in Our Program

Undergraduate students who study psychology at Temple University develop critical thinking skills through courses that emphasize the scientific basis of psychology, statistical analysis and experimental design. Advanced courses introduce students to current psychological research on mental disorders and treatments, learning and memory, social development, and many other topics. Students are encouraged to develop applied skills through focused experiential learning in research laboratories and through community-based internships.

Our nationally ranked graduate program provides doctoral training across four areas of psychology: Clinical Psychology, Cognition and Neuroscience, Developmental Psychology and Social Psychology.
