Hebrew

The Hebrew language has a history spanning thousands of years, from its biblical origins to the Modern Hebrew spoken by over 9 million people worldwide today.

The College of Liberal Arts offers a four course sequence in Hebrew, taking students from introductory elements like the Hebrew alphabet to classes taught primarily in Hebrew. Students will gain not only verbal and written proficiency with the language but also a familiarity with current events, popular culture, cinema, music, literature and social issues in Israel and other Hebrew speaking communities.

Please see the Hebrew courses page in the College of Liberal Arts undergraduate bulletin for a full list of Hebrew course offerings.

If you are interested in taking a course as a non-matriculated student, please contact the Office of Continuing Education.
