New Cultural Heritage Management Master's Program!

A master’s degree in Cultural Heritage Management provides students with a strong theoretical grounding in anthropology, along with the more practical skills and knowledge they need to be successful in the field of heritage management. This includes areas such as cultural resource management (CRM), historic preservation, museums and heritage sites, and public history - which coincides with a historically high and rapidly increasing demand for skilled workers in heritage management, both regionally and nationally.

The Cultural Heritage Management MA program is designed to provide essential training for people seeking to advance their careers in cultural heritage management, including; individuals in a variety of settings, including museums, historical societies, cultural resource management companies, and related disciplines.

A progressive curriculum, learning under world-class faculty, and the opportunities for hands-on learning are just a few highlights that makes our program stand out. Students will benefit from the experience they gain in the Temple Anthropology Laboratory and Museum (TALM). Students will learn the tools of the trade by working in the TALM and will be able to demonstrate how they have applied those skills in a real heritage environment. You will have access to a wide range of heritage sites not only in Philadelphia but also across the greater Mid-Atlantic region! Moreover, upon completing the degree, you will have developed skills that employers in the heritage sector seek.

Get ready to build a foundation through coursework and experience in current theoretical, methodological, and ethical debates in anthropology that will prepare you to enter a highly competitive workforce in CRM, government, museums, collections management and much more!
