Center for the Humanities at Temple

For nearly 25 years, the Center for the Humanities at Temple (CHAT) has been a vibrant hub for interdisciplinary research, fostering diverse perspectives and creating a space where big ideas and bold conversations take shape. With the support of the College of Liberal Arts, CHAT brings together faculty, graduate students, undergraduates, and the broader community to collaborate across the humanities and humanistic social sciences. Through fellowships, public lectures, undergraduate programs, and collaborative initiatives, CHAT highlights the vital role of the humanities in addressing pressing issues in fields such as medicine, law, business, and the sciences. The Center defines the humanities broadly and inclusively, valuing a wide range of perspectives, methodologies, and scholarly traditions.

As a member of The Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes (CHCI), CHAT is part of a global network of institutions dedicated to humanistic research. Join our mailing list, The CHATTER, to stay up to date with the latest happenings.
