Philosophy - MA
Our master’s degree in philosophy is designed for students to begin advanced training in the field of philosophy. They will gain the ability to think and analyze problems both in great depth and great breadth. Students may plan to continue with a PhD program, or they may consider the master's a terminal degree for personal enrichment or for pre-college teaching.
We also offer a dual-degree program, in which graduates receive a MA in Philosophy and MA in Urban Bioethics. The aim of the program is to provide either (a) philosophy students with specialized training in the ethics, values, and politics of health in our increasingly multi-dimensionally diverse society or (b) Urban bioethics students with a broader understanding of the philosophical underpinnings of contemporary bioethics.
