Megan Mohler has a BA in Psychology and Comparative Studies from the Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Portland State University. Her past research has looked at how media consumption influences public perception of police legitimacy. She has also worked in the field assessing compliance with police reform measures. Her current interests focus on understanding the nature of social problems, such as the opioid epidemic and increasing rates of substance abuse. Her future research is aimed at understanding substance abuse and substance abuse treatment within a life course perspective. Currently, she is a research assistant on a department project that is examining progressive prosecution. This project is interested in understanding how change occurs in the criminal justice system.
