Administrative Issues and Benefits
All Temple University faculty members are entitled to a 20% discount on books and school supplies at the Temple University Bookstore. Temple ID (clearly stating that you are a faculty member) must be shown at the time of purchase to take advantage of this benefit.
Campus Recreation Access
Access to the facilities and programs offered by Campus Recreation require paying the campus recreation access fee. There are two payment options: payroll deduction, or manually by semester or academic year. Employees interested in paying for Campus Recreation access may do so in the Campus Recreation Main Office, 1800 N. Broad St. Suite 303, Pearson/McGonigle halls, or at the Student Faculty Center at HSC. Swipe access is typically granted within 48 hours of enrollment.
Copy Centers, Office Supplies & Copies
Office supplies can be ordered through your department secretary.
Main Campus — Contact your department secretary for copies.
Ambler Campus —Copiers are available throughout campus. Faculty may use Diamond Dollars, a department code, or cash as follows:
Learning Center and West Hall – General access; Diamond Dollars only
Widener Hall Room 217 – Faculty only; code access
Library – General access; coin operated and Diamond Dollars
Center City Campus — A copier for faculty use is located in room 211. You must have a copy center code to use the machine. You can request a copy center code at the reception desk in the campus administration office (suite 215). Please note that your department will be charged for the photocopies you make; therefore, be sure to obtain departmental approval.
Ft. Washington Campus — Please arrange to make your copies at either Main or Ambler Campus
Faculty Office, Phone, Computer and Mailbox
How to Arrange for Office Space and Mailbox:
Mailboxes are located in your department office. Check with your department chair to reserve office space.
Center City Campus
Office space is located in room 423. It is on a first come first serve basis. Mailboxes are only provided if you complete a request form, which can be obtained at the 2nd floor reception desk.
112 West Hall – Open weekdays until 5:00 PM except Wednesdays until 6:00 PM. Contact Marcia E. Whitaker at 267-468-8223 to arrange for a mailbox and office space.
Ft. Washington Campus

Obtaining an E-mail Account
Once you have an AccessNet username and TUsecure password you can gain entry to TUportal which offers a single sign-on gateway to Temple’s most popular online services including TUmail, Blackboard, OWLnet, MyBackpack, Diamond Dollars, Employee Self Service and TUlibrary. You can access TUportal at http://tuportal.temple.edu.

Cash Operations Office, Room 101 West Hall; 267-468-8250. Open M-TH 8:30am-5:30pm and F 8:30am-5:00pm.
Center City Campus
TUCC has negotiated discount parking rates with at three nearby garages (Central Parking and Standard Parking). In order to get the discount rate you must show your Temple faculty ID card and request a validation coupon at TUCC. Validation coupons and rates are available at the security desk in the ground floor lobby area. Coupons for the 1500 Market Street day rate are available at the reception desk in the campus administration office on the 2nd floor.
Your paycheck will be deposited into your bank account via direct deposit.
Four checks issued on the last day of each month. September, October, November, December.
Five checks issued on the last day of each month. January, February, March, April, May.
One check issued at the end of the session.
Temple Identification Cards
The University ID Card (Owl Card) identifies the cardholder by picture, name and function. This identification card should be carried when you are on campus and must be shown upon request when entering all Temple buildings.
Temple Identification Cards may be obtained from Human Resource’s Employment Services, Mitten Hall, Lower Level, 1913 North Broad Street, 215-204-3317, hours Monday- Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
On the ID is your Temple University ID number. You will use this number in place of your social security number on all official forms.

As a part time faculty member at Temple you are eligible to participate in a tax sheltered annuity plan. You should note that this benefit is available to you with no University match.

Verification Onboarding Email
You will receive this email after you have signed and returned you appointment letter and are hired. Follow the instructions provided. This process must be completed and submitted in order for new adjuncts to receive the University ID card and direct deposit.
