Apply for your degree

If you are planning to graduate in December 2016, you must apply for graduation through Self Service Banner. Please follow the steps below:

1. Log into TUportal

2. Click on Student Tools near the top of the page

3. Navigate to the "Records" channel, normally located on the right side of the page under the "Registration" channel

4. Click on the Apply to Graduate button and a ceremony

Latin Honors

To be eligible for Latin Honors, at least 60 credits must be completed at Temple University and the final cumulative GPA must meet the qualifying standards. The qualifying cumulative GPA standards for CLA students graduating in July 2016, December 2016, and May 2017 are as follows:

Summa Cum Laude = at least a 3.94 cumulative GPA

Magna Cum Laude = at least a 3.84 cumulative GPA

Cum Laude = at least a 3.68 cumulative GPA

Diplomas

If you are academically cleared and do not have holds on your student record, the diploma will be mailed to the address you list on your graduation application approximately eight weeks after your degree is awarded. If you do not receive your diploma after such time, please email diploma@temple.edu.

Upon review of your academic history, if it is determined that you have NOT met all necessary degree requirements, you will be notified by academic advisor through your Temple email account.

Senior Portraits

You may schedule your Senior Portrait at ouryear.com. Enter school code 87120 for main campus or 87202 for the Ambler campus and follow instructions to complete your reservation. If you have any questions, please contact the Templar Yearbook staff at 215-204-7299.

CLA Winter Graduation Ceremony

The CLA Winter Graduation Ceremony will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 3:00 in the Temple Performing Arts Center. Tickets are required for this event.

Academic Regalia

Graduates are required to appear at the CLA Graduation Ceremony wearing an approved cap, gown, tassel, and hood. Online ordering is now available. If you have any questions about ordering regalia please contact the University Bookstore.

Special Seating Accommodations for the Ceremony

Seating is available for guests who require special accommodations. More information about accessibility is available via the Temple Performing Arts Center.
