Philosophy - BA

Philosophy is the study of the most basic questions that underlie all other fields of study and practice, such as: What is the nature of reality? How can we distinguish right from wrong, and truth from falsehood? How should we organize society and act toward one another? It concentrates on how these basic questions manifest themselves as foundational issues within specific fields of inquiry—like, art, law, economics, history, science, mathematics, psychology, biology and so on. Our BA in philosophy provides a background for the further study of philosophy and builds a foundation for various professions in business, government and professional schools.

Interested in attending law school? Studying philosophy will give you a strong foundation in the skills necessary for a legal career: critical, analytical thinking, communication and organizational skills. We make special provisions for you, as indicated under the BA requirements.
